retro honeymoon fashion.

Aside from marrying my sweetheart and celebrating with all our favorite people, what I am most excited about at the moment is our honeymoon to Fiji. We have booked five nights at a luxury resort where we plan to relax, drink cocktails, get massages, snorkel and even picnic on a deserted island. Since I have officially finished all my wedding-related shopping (dress, shoes, accessories, bridal shower/hens night outfit, day-after outfit etc), I’ve begun picking up cute pieces to wear in the sand and sunshine.

Usually at the beach I just throw on whatever is comfortable, cool and clean but I figured because it’s our honeymoon, I should probably make a bit more of an effort. I want to be look back at photos when we’re celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary and think ‘damn girl’ or something to that effect. Who knows what cool slang we’ll be saying in 2062. Anyway, I digress.

As a lover of all things retro, I thought a 50s resortwear-inspired wardrobe would hit the spot. Think Marilyn-style capris, polka dots, cat eye shades, sun dresses and flowers in my hair.

So far I’ve only invested in a bikini and a maxi dress but I definitely think I’m off to a good start.I’m going to take my inspiration from Dita von Teese because even when she is gallivanting around tropical islands, on yachts and at the beach – she looks nothing less than perfect.

  1. I sincerely hope AK serenades you EP style as above! Love that bikini so, so much and so, so jealous of your pending Fijian adventure! x
